I have a dash cam from my Lariat, previously I had to run power to the fuse box on the passenger side. With the gen 2 is it possible to pick it up at the auxiliary switches? Thoughts? Are the key enabled or power all the time?
I have my radar detector wired in up there (Car Toys did it for me) so i know there's power available there.
There is a bundle of wires under/behind the glove box on the interior, and exterior in the engine bay that are pre-wired to the aux switches. Use this site, it helped me! https://bajamod.com/feature-wiring-switches.php
I ran my Dash Cam to Upfitter Aux-6 switch. I don’t have any specific pics of under the hood connections that need to be made, but the two sets of stubs are on the firewall side of the battery. You’ll need to connect at least one of these to get the power to the stubs inside the truck. The instructions I have seen from Ford are wrong on the location of the stubs inside the truck. I found mine below the inside fuse panel that is behind the kick panel. I removed the glove box door to give me a little more operating room. I wired in another 12v female socket in order to use the supplied 12v/USB power supply. Sorry if the images are too large or jumbled — my iPad and this site are at odds with each other...
