I just picked up my 2018 raptor in black. It's loaded with everything and is easily the smoothest and most comfortable truck I've ever been in. I'm new to the forum but am looking forward to contributing. Now all I have to do is figure out what accessories I need to buy to fill up the aux switches!
Welcome to the forum! Plenty of great info here if you search around and read through the threads. First thing i recommend is find someone local from this site that can help you or just get your own Forescan account and get into the software and make some changes to a few things. There's a bunch of stuff you can turn on or off but the #1 thing we all seem to do is turn off the fake engine noise that gets pumped into the cab and turn off the auto start/stop that shuts the engine off when you come to a stop. I really recommend killing the engine noise as you'll love just how luxury car quiet the truck really is. Also before you consider any upgrades to the sound system you'll want to start from a truly clean starting point to know how your system sounds and gauge where you want it to be. Otherwise there's more and more things coming on the market every day. Shop around first and ask questions here on recommendations as we've been consuming new stuff as fast as it comes out and you can get some good feedback before making a purchase you may not be happy with. Have fun and enjoy the ride man!!!!!!
Wow thanks guys! I've been reading through the forum and have found tons of great threads. Can anyone recommend a good light bar for the grill? I'm not looking for anything too big.
Stupid question probably but is the forescan account and subsequent modifications "warranty friendly"?
7 weeks from order to delivery. Love this thing so far. Paid MSRP minus $500 for being in the military. SCAB, 802A, moon roof, Carbon fiber, spray-in bed liner, tailgate step, heated rear seats, Raptor Tech, beadlock capable wheels. Ordered pedal commander and stubby antenna off eBay, getting rear wheel wells sprayed by LineX tomorrow, Xpel wrap going on Friday, weather tech mudflats arrive Saturday. Yup, I'm broke. Now to figure out the Forscan stuff. I have all mac products, so I guess I need a windows tablet and the OBD Link. The double honk, lack of power mirror control and fake engine noise are pretty annoying. The only no-kidding disappointment so far is the sound system. I'm sure disabling the fake engine noise helps, but the rattle in the doors at even low volume with moderate bass is pathetic for a $71,300 (pre tax) vehicle!
So far it seems to be. You only turning things on or off that are already there. It's the same way the dealer goes in to do things and i'm finding or hearing dealers will do these things for you if you ask. Of course you'll have to pay for it which means it's cheaper and easier to do it yourself.
